FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Chambliss, Isakson Applaud NCR’s Move to Georgia WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., and Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., today applauded NCR, a Fortune 500 company which produces ATMs, cash registers and self-service kiosks, for its decision to move its corporate headquarters and a manufacturing facility to Georgia. The move is expected to bring 1,250 jobs to Duluth and approximately 800 jobs to Columbus. “This announcement is welcome news and will bring thousands of high-tech, high-paying jobs to Columbus and Duluth,” said Chambliss. “NCR will benefit greatly from Georgia’s innovative workforce and top-tier educational institutions. I applaud Gov. Perdue and local governments in Columbus and Duluth for working hard to help bring NCR to Georgia.” “I am delighted that NCR has chosen to move its corporate headquarters and a manufacturing facility to Georgia,” Isakson said. “This is great news for our state and reflects the world-class workforce and location that Georgia provides.” In October 2008, NCR announced it would establish a global Center of Excellence for its worldwide customer services operations in Peachtree City. This is expected to create more than 900 jobs in the coming months. The NCR manufacturing plant in Columbus is expected to begin production before the end of the year. ### |
