Isakson Mourns Death of President Ford
‘He Truly Was An Unsung Hero of Our Republic’

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) today issued the following statement on the death of President Gerald Ford, who passed away Tuesday night at age 93.

“I join the nation today in mourning the death of President Ford. My thoughts and prayers are with former First Lady Betty Ford and the entire Ford family.

“When Gerald Ford took office in 1974, he was exactly the right person for our country at a very difficult time in history. President Ford immediately earned the respect of the nation with his honorable and humble leadership. He truly was an unsung hero of our republic.”
